Vogue

When visionary publisher Condé Nast bought and transformed Vogue in 1909, elegant chic, modern manners and wit joined with fashion to make a radical new kind of fashion magazine. Couturiers became stars, their work dressed the most glamorous women of the age. Chanel, Schiaparelli, Dior and Ossie Clarke have all been celebrated in the pages of Vogue. Photographers such as Beaton, illustrators Berard and Eric, artists Erte and Dali elevated fashion images into an art form.
