Never out of fashion, these two new journals from the publishers teNeues for Spring 2011, feature classic black + white vintage photography sourced from the extraordinary VOGUE archive.

Also available in the same collection will soon be a series of calenders as well as a divine Desk Diary for 2012..

Now we just have to be patient and wait for the samples to arrive..

Top Girl @ Top Drawer 2011!

Thrilled to see Silkie Edwards win the prize for Best New Product at this years Top Drawer at Earls Court a few weeks ago.

Luckily my good friend at Print+Pattern was there to record the event so I have kindly borrowed her photographs for this post. Thank you M.

It is Silkie’s first attempt at creating a children’s range of product for Rosehip, her own stationary company based in Bristol, so she was pleasantly surprised and a little taken aback when they announced her name. Well deserved. Congratulations to her and Simon.

Silkie is available for commissioning, and her portfolio of existing designs are available for licensing.

BC & Many Happy Returns launch CHATTERBOX 1950s

BC Creative Director, Sian Rees and Designer Tess Rostmark have recently been lucky enough to work with Many Happy Returns, to create the second in a series of 26 flash cards, featuring 1950s Britain.

Many Happy Returns is a social enterprise founded by reminiscence and visual communication specialist Sarah Reed. Her aim is to make the world of care better by helping older and younger people connect more meaningfully and share their stories for mutual pleasure.

Chatterbox 1950s is a set of large size cards that trigger memories for older people using visual imagery of themes and topics from everyday life of the period. Background information and conversational prompts provide both commonality and contrast for younger generations. The cards are an ideal catalyst to immediate, meaningful and enjoyable conversation for young and old alike and encourage them to share their life experiences and stories.

To date, Many Happy Returns has published two decades of reminiscence cards and BC is also working with Sarah to develop other targeted products to expand the range. Design approaches are in development and we will be looking for partnerships to potentially license these onto other complimentary products.

For 35 years, Sarah Reed was a media based creative producer. She is a volunteer and trustee of the national charities Contact the Elderly and Independent Age and recipient of a Bank of America Local Hero Award 2009.
